My clients have a choice of linen, pearl, or regular card stock. Although all the choices make for beautiful cards, new moms tend to lean toward the pearl and linen finishes. The cards are flat with images on both sides. I’ve found that most clients prefer to put a 5×7 image on the back side and a smaller image or two on the front with the babies info. Of course, there is an option to upgrade the card to a bi-fold or a tri-fold. Some clients choose to order matching thank you cards with another image from their session. Additional birth announcements are available for purchase. I just had to show off a few of my favorites.

This gorgeous “thank you card” was part of the collection in the card design above that the parents ordered to announce their little girls arrival into the world. Mom ordered a couple of sets of these cards to send to all of the people who sent gifts. How special to have your own personalized stationery as a newborn!

Although he looks like a newborn, he certainly let us know he wasn’t one, but we finally tired him out for a few minutes and I quickly took some photographs for Mom and Dad. All of my babies are special, but after taking some extended time off, it was such a joy to be able to photograph Ari. I’ve known his mother since she was a baby and also photographed his big sister. Isn’t he the cutest little thing? I loved that little chin of his and the way he pulls in his lower lip. Thank you W & A for bringing your special little bundle in to see me.

If you’ve never been there, I highly recommend it! The weather and the people are absolutely wonderful. Talk about a great time, too!

One of the tours we took was “the monkey tour” which was on a small boat through the mangroves. Among other things, we saw white faced monkeys and had several come on the boat. One jumped on my shoulder and then onto my head. Muddy footprints all over my white shirt, but what an experience! If you like birds, this is definitely the place to go. I’ve never seen so many gorgeous birds in my entire life as I saw in the last few weeks. They were absolutely breathtaking!

I do have to mention that you should probably like beans and rice if you plan to visit Costa Rica as they eat them with every meal. Breakfast if beans and rice mixed together with scrambled eggs and lunch and dinner both have a side of beans and rice. Every meal also came with plantain (similar to a banana) that was fried and a coleslaw or chopped lettuce type salad with grilled chicken, fish or some kind of beef. We did a lot of tours that included meals so I ate a lot of this stuff. I’ve probably had enough rice to last me the year as I am not a rice person. It actually did grow on me though so maybe you develop a taste for it after a while?

As soon as I get unpacked and life is in order a little, I’ll post a few pics. In the meantime, how exciting to come home and see the snow has melted and the grass is turning green, the tree’s are budding with the arrival of spring in Anchorage. Life is good! Or as they say in Costa Rica “Pura Vida”!
