Thank you for checking out my BLOG. While you are here, look around a little, make a comment or two on your favorite photos and check back. Things are always changing as I try to post some of my favorite images. You might even find some idea's that will inspire you for a session of your own.
If you are interested in a newborn session, it is best to book early. I do a limited number of sessions and they fill up fast. Newborns are best photographed between 5-10 days of age to achieve those curly, sleepy newborn poses we all love so much. This summer I will be taking even fewer sessions, as my daughter and her family will be visiting from out of the country for six weeks.

Back from Costa Rica

I’m finally home from a fabulous trip to Costa Rica with my husband. If you’ve never been there, I highly recommend it! The weather and the people are absolutely wonderful. Talk about a great time, too!
One of the tours we took was “the monkey tour” which was on a small boat through the mangroves. Among other things, we saw white faced monkeys and had several come on the boat. One jumped on my shoulder and then onto my head. Muddy footprints all over my white shirt, but what an experience! If you like birds, this is definitely the place to go. I’ve never seen so many gorgeous birds in my entire life as I saw in the last few weeks. They were absolutely breathtaking!
I do have to mention that you should probably like beans and rice if you plan to visit Costa Rica as they eat them with every meal. Breakfast if beans and rice mixed together with scrambled eggs and lunch and dinner both have a side of beans and rice. Every meal also came with plantain (similar to a banana) that was fried and a coleslaw or chopped lettuce type salad with grilled chicken, fish or some kind of beef. We did a lot of tours that included meals so I ate a lot of this stuff. I’ve probably had enough rice to last me the year as I am not a rice person. It actually did grow on me though so maybe you develop a taste for it after a while?
As soon as I get unpacked and life is in order a little, I’ll post a few pics. In the meantime, how exciting to come home and see the snow has melted and the grass is turning green, the tree’s are budding with the arrival of spring in Anchorage. Life is good! Or as they say in Costa Rica “Pura Vida”!

Sneak Peek Leigha {Newborn} Wasilla Newborn Photographer

Having know Leigha’s parents since they were children, I had a particularly fun time with this session. I haven’t seen them in years, so I was able to catch up a little and still had all the fun of meeting their precious new bundle. M & J, enjoy these little peeks of your new baby girl.

Peeking at Connor {Newborn} Anchorage Newborn Photographer

Mom gave little Connor pep talks from the day he was born to get him prepared for his session and he did not disappoint. This little guy was absolutely incredible from the time he arrived to the end of the session. I wanted to keep him, but Mom would not hear of it. She knows he’s a keeper, too. I am baby Connor’s grandmother and was there for his photo shoot. The photos Karen took were fantastic. I wanted to buy them all! Karen is so professional and takes the time to make each photo a lasting memory you will want to cherish. They were truly the best infant pictures I have ever seen.

I first met this little girl when she was about six days old and now here she is about to turn two. Her mom slipped her in for some quick photos before she is joined by a new little sister. I’ve known her mother since she was a child, so it’s particularly special when I get clients such as Aubrey in the studio. I can’t wait to get her back and meet her new sister next week.
